You will never believe where I have been!

Hi, Froggy here! It's been awhile since I checked in with you, but boy have I been busy! After leaving New York City, I flew to Las Vegas to see Ryan's friend Chris. It turns out that the day I arrived Chris was leaving for Disneyland! This was my first road trip ever and it was so fun. I got to Disneyland on a Friday and the weather was perfect. I couldn't believe how big the park was when I got there and was surprised at how many Christmas decorations were up. I can't even imagine how they got that Christmas tree there! Disneyland was built in only one year and it officially opened on July 17th, 1955 to a crowd of over 28,000 people! WOW! I was there from 9:30AM to midnight, and boy were my four feet tired after that, my legs were so sore from hopping that I was happy to sit back and enjoy the nightly "World of Color" show at California Adventure. The show features nearly 1,200 powerful and programmable fountains that can shoot water up to 200 feet in the air! It's A Small World was my favorite ride in Disneyland because I was close to water the whole time, and just floated along. It made me feel right at home and they had it decorated for Christmas. After a very long day at the happiest place on Earth, my new friend and I went to Newport Beach to get some sun. That plan didn't really work because the weather decided to turn bad and it got cloudy. Still, I got to hop along the shoreline and chase after birds for a bit. I'm on my way back to Las Vegas now, and soon I'll be going to see the famous Las Vegas Strip, and then flying to Chicago, Illinois to visit Chris and Ryan's friend Jon!

It's a Small World... I loved this ride because it reminded me of all of you.
It was filled with beautiful children singing.

Now I know why they call Disneyland the happiest place on Earth!

All these beautiful lights reminded me of Times Square in New York.

Chris sat me up high for a great view of the ocean.

Here I am resting after hours spent hopping after birds.

My First Week in New York

Hi class!

My first week in New York City has been fantastic! I've done a lot of sight seeing and plenty of shopping! I wish you all could join me here so that we could have a lot of fun. Today was extremely action packed! First, I went to Soho, a really cool area here in New York City, and went shopping at Bloomingdales! It's been really chilly this past week and even almost snowed at one point so I had to make sure that I got a warm winter coat!
After we finished shopping, we went to the famous Times Square where the New Year's Eve celebration is. I thought it was very cool to see how many people were there. Not only did I see and meet people from all over the country, I also met people from all over the world! When you're in Times Square, it's like daytime. Even at night! There are so many billboards, advertisements and videos that light it up. I hear that it is never empty, even at 4 in the morning! When we were walking back, I got to see the Empire State Building! Every night it lights up different colors. Tonight it was red and green! Did you know that you can go to http://whatcoloristheempirestatebuilding.com/ to see what color it will be?
I forgot to mention that I'm staying at the George Washington Hotel building here in NYC! It opened in 1928 and has had a lot of famous visitors! Did you know that the first plans for the World Trade Center were drawn out here?
I have a lot to see before I leave on Wednesday! I have decided to spend Thanksgiving in either Maine or in Kansas! Then, who knows where I will go? I'll be sure to keep writing to my favorite class to let you all know how I'm doing!
I've included some pictures here as well!

My Adventure Begins

Today I said goodbye to my first grade friends, and my teacher packed me in a box.  I am on my way to New York to start my adventure with her nephew.  I look forward to meeting him and seeing New York City, where he is going to college.  Over the next six months, I will travel the country, and maybe even the world.  I am so excited about the people I will meet and the places I will see!  My adventure has begun!
